Management Accountant
We are seeking a qualified Management Accountant who can support the day to day financial control and financial management of the business. Despite our successes, Divine Chocolate remains a small organisation and we are looking for someone who is prepared to get involved in all aspects of the financial management of our organisation and grow with us.

This is an exciting role for someone who wants a genuine opportunity to contribute to the strategic growth of a ground breaking and highly respected organisation, whilst working with a dynamic and engaging staff team and being hands on with everyday accounting.

Finance Team
We are a small, committed and friendly team who collaborate with a great range of suppliers and partners that share our ethical values. The team also work with the U.S. office, based in Washington D.C and with the operations team that service distributors in a diverse range of export markets, such as Sweden, Japan, Australia & South Korea. As a member of our small Finance team, this role also carries responsibility for data input and processing, with full responsibility for the debtors ledger and purchase ledger from inputting invoices to chasing debt and processing payments inbound and outbound.

Role responsibilities:

  • Purchase ledger input, reconciliation and payments
  • Sales ledger input reconciliation and debt collection
  • Payments processing and bank reconciliations
  • Financial planning, forecasting and budgeting
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with data processing and input
  • Lead the financial control and analysis of marketing and promotional spend, produce customer P&Ls and support the sales team in analysing margins by customer and product
  • Manage and develop the financial systems and control, using the recently implemented Netsuite ERP system
  • Work closely with the operations team to manage and analyse stock levels, pricing and short dated stock analysis
  • Develop input in Powerpoint for Board presentations
  • Put in place reporting and forecasting of sales, marketing, operating costs and operational KPIs
  • Produce analysis and insight that drives strategy and financial performance
  • Provide expertise and be a source of knowledge on tax and VAT position
  • Continuously improve procedures, templates, reports and guidance to ensure they are fit for purpose and effective
  • Encourage collaboration and learning amongst teams
  • Carry out ad hoc duties as requested by the Finance Manager

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

  • Solid accounting technical skills (qualified accountant – CIMA or ACCA)
  • Very strong proficiency in Excel
  • Industry experience, ideally in a retail or FMCG environment
  • Good experience with using Powerpoint to create charts and presentations
  • Good communication skills, to clearly present financials and enable team members to input into and understand P&L performance

Desirable Skills:

  • Netsuite
  • FMCG and or retail experience

  • Strong in accuracy and attention to detail
  • Comfortable in a small office environment, with a hands-on approach
  • Friendly and helpful team player
  • Forward thinking and commercially astute
  • Enthusiastic about chocolate, Fairtrade and the role Divine can play in doing business differently
