Description
The School of Health Sciences at Walden University have a Graduate Assistant position available within the Master of Public Health (MPH) program. If you are a second year MPH student interested in working on a research project for approximately five months, please see requirements below. This is a virtual, grant-funded paid position requiring 10 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this position, the GA will assist with:TECHNICAL, MANAGERIAL, and PEOPLE SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Strong academic background in health-related field

  • Superb writing, time management, problem solving and communication skills

  • Demonstrated experience with SPSS and biostatistics (basic knowledge)


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor’s degree is required, with demonstrated expertise and coursework taken in a health-related field.

  • Must be a current Walden University student in the Master of Public Health program with at least one year completed in the program.

  • Demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Experience of biostatistics and SPSS (basic working knowledge)

  • Experience conducting interviews preferred

  • Superb knowledge of APA and scholarly writing

  • The successful candidate must have an overall GPA of 3.5 or better on all Walden University coursework completed.

  • Excellent writing and literature search skills.

  • The Graduate Assistant should plan to committee approximately 10 hours per week from mid-August to November 2018 to this position (possibly into December).

  • May perform other duties and responsibilities that management may deem necessary from time to time
