At African Clean Energy (ACE) we specialise in distributing the ACE 1 Energy System, a high quality solar-biomass hybrid enabling users to cook using significantly less fuel and offering access to electricity for mobile charging and lighting. We distribute by employing in-house sales teams and building last- mile distribution channels in the developing world which can facilitate remote households to gain access not only to the ACE 1, but also to maintenance services, financial support and clean fuels. ACE is headquartered in Amsterdam, our flagship factory is in Lesotho, and we have ground operations selling B2C in Lesotho, Cambodia and Uganda.

Job Description:
African Clean Energy (ACE) needs a tech-savvy, diligent and enthusiastic operations manager in Mbale, Uganda who wants to look for opportunities to improve ACE’s sales operations and identify scaling opportunities. We want to bring the tech and efficiency of modern sales tactics to emerging markets, with tools such as workflow processes, data collection and results monitoring. Your focus will be on the expansion of a new network of retail locations, implementing processes that reduce risk and building out a supply chain of sustainable fuel to all new retail locations. The goal is to scale up, increase sales, customer retention and ensuring excellent customer service from all branches.

Responsibilities
* Working with Sales Manager and Country Director to set up new sales teams and retail locations.
* Recognising opportunities and efficiencies within sales strategy.
* Foolproofing ‘remote location’ data collection and identifying pitfalls.
* Customer acquisition and retention strategies.
* Sustainable Fuels supply chain and sales strategies.
* Tech Adoption and Training.
* Work with telecom companies to ensure our customers have access to the services they need.
* Training and implementing new data collection and payment tools.

Position Specification
Role: Uganda Operations Manager
Training: One month+ in Amsterdam HQ
Compensation: Conform + Flights and Accommodation + emergency medical insurance
Location: Mbale, Uganda
Reporting: Direct reporting to ACE’s CEO Ruben Walker, COO Judith Joan Walker and Country Director Tyra Oduttu
