Human resources Manager
TORONTO, ON | FULL-TIME
The Role
We’re looking for a Human Resources Manager to be the sole lead of our human resources services. As a strategic self-starter, you’re able to jump right in and provide appropriate advice and guidance to the management team in all areas of human resources. You’ll be able to create, implement and maintain effective policies and best practices. This position is a new position and it’s our first formal HR position.
A leader by nature, you’ll take the lead role in all employee engagement initiatives and overall staff morale. You’re well versed in employment equity, compensation and able to ensure compliance in all areas of employment law.

Experience & Skills

Job Description:
Create and implement/maintain effective policies and best practices
Recruitment and hiring
Orientation/on-boarding
Administration and employee relations
Maintain accurate employee records
Problem solving and conflict resolution
Working closely with department managers
Benefits administration
WSIB management and reporting (and advising managers on our obligation to accommodate)

Ideal Experience:
5+ years of progressive HR experience (union experience an asset)
University degree with diploma in Human Resources
CHRP Designation preferred

Personality Type and skill set:
Emotionally intelligent, mature and high level of common sense
A strong focus on implementation and results
Strong prioritization and critical thinking skills
Ability to thoughtfully understand what’s most important at any given time
Proven negotiating skills
Hours/location: This is a full time position at our Toronto location (19 Waterman).
