Partnerships Manager

Why join us?

At Greyston, we create thriving communities through the practice and promotion of Open Hiring, which means we provide employment opportunities to people regardless of their background or work history, while offering them the support necessary both to succeed in the workplace and to thrive in the community. With our history as a social justice pioneer, Greyston is recognized as one of the country’s leading social enterprises that provides individuals opportunities for employment. Our philosophy fuels community development and a commitment to human growth and potential. With tremendous interest in socially responsible business and growing awareness of the massive economic dysfunction driven by poverty, recidivism and a lack of job opportunities for people with barriers, The Center for Open Hiring was launched as a platform to scale the mindsets, practices and methodologies of Greyston, and we are currently running a series of pilots to learn how open hiring can be adapted within different companies and organizations.

The Partnerships Manger will have primary responsibility for managing current partnerships, building new partners, and managing the workflow, timelines and deliverables for each. This team member will serve as a bridge between internal and external work, help make processes and structures work, and ensure the whole team is moving in lockstep. This person will serve as the primary point of contact, and in combination with our CEO and The Center’s Director, you will be one of the main faces of Greyston to our external partners. This is an ideal position for someone who has excellent people skills, a love of structure, and who is detail oriented but does not miss the big picture.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Act as the primary liaison to key partners with whom the Center is collaborating and running projects.
  2. Support and assist with the overall growth and success of The Center.
  3. Support internal coordination and collaboration

Core Tasks and Timing for Key Responsibilities:

  • Become a primary point of contact for, and maintain strong relationships with the Center’s key partners, with an emphasis on driving success within our corporate pilot program.
  • Lead the day-to-day partnership management, including scoping and managing work streams, closely managing progress against objective, highlighting roadblocks as soon as they arise and taking full personal ownership for high-quality, timely execution of deliverables.
  • Help develop and deliver trainings and workshops aimed at shifting the mindsets of organizations that are new to Open Hiring, and hopefully engaging them in longer-term transformation work.
  • Collaborate with the finance group to manage project budgets.

Support and assist with the overall growth and success of The Center:

  • Research and identify new potential partnerships and build strategies for each.
  • Support the overall growth and success of The Center by ensuring consistency across our partnerships, extracting important lessons, and building tools and frameworks to support the replication and adoption of open hiring.
  • Help draft the narrative that ties the project components together and package for external communications and partner outreach.
  • Assist in developing a budget, ROI, and price estimate using financial models.

Support internal coordination and collaboration:

  • Keep internal teams abreast of key partnerships, outcomes, opportunities and challenges, i.e., clear details, critical timeframes and expectations.
  • Ensure there is consistent integration with the Greyston’s leadership team and the Center’s overall strategy, including regular status updates and project plans.
  • Support Greyston’s learning culture by ensuring constant iterations and feedback, and using insights and tools to track, analyze and communicate impact.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • A proven track record of implementing and managing partnerships, particularly in the corporate sector.
  • Independent, self-starter that can seamlessly integrate into various teams and committees.
  • Commitment to Greyston’s core values, mission, and programs with an approach that is consistent with the Foundation’s guiding principles.
  • Strong executional skills with the ability to meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Excellent organizational skills, demonstrated ability to lead teams through a complex and ambiguous task
  • Ability to be independent and work effectively and with sensitivity across barriers, such as language and culture.
  • Strong communication skills with proven verbal, written and presentation skills, i.e., clear succinct and compelling writing style.
  • Works well under pressure while maintaining strong organizational, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze issues in order to make recommendations and lead action plans.
  • A “no task too small” mentality with the ability to collaborate effectively with a small team; a great team player.
  • Must be detail-orientated and have strong interpersonal skills.

Experience:

  • Five to seven years’ experience with a minimum of three years of similar partner or partnership building experience, ideally within the corporate sector.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint) a must.
  • An understanding of the Human Capital Ecosystem in large organizations, a plus
